Vietjet Signed Deal of US$ 1.1 billion with Honeywell Aerospace Technologies

Apart from these MoUs, Vietnam’s airline Vietjet has also signed a deal of US$ 1.1 billion with America’s  Honeywell Aerospace Technologies. The US company will offer avionics and aviation technical services for Vietjet’s aircraft fleet, the budget airline said.

Additionally, the MoUs were signed at a business forum in the United States, the government said in a statement.

The business forum was attended by Vietnamese President, To Lam, scheduled to meet US President Joe Biden on Wednesday.

According to the statement, after the signing of the MoUs, To Lam said that the US government would likely acknowledge Vietnam as a market economy.

Vietnam has been seeking an upgrade for a long time. It would lower the punitive duties levied on non-market economies, which have a high influence on the country. Last month, the US Commerce Department announced it would keep categorizing Vietnam as a non-market economy.
