Truecaller Launches Call Recording and AI Transcription Features in India

Truecaller has launched its call recording and artificial intelligence (AI)--powered transcription features in India. This product was originally introduced in the US in June 2023, but less than a year later, the company is expanding into more territories. Android and iOS users can record and record incoming and outgoing calls with the help of AI. This is being added as a nice feature and is available only to paid users of the app.

In an announcement, Truecaller said that the feature will allow users to record calls directly within the app, eliminating the need to use a third-party app to record the call from there. Additionally, the company has used AI to provide a transcription feature also for recorded calls It will provide you with a full transcription, once the call is completed. Interestingly, the app offered call recording, but had to be discontinued when Google imposed restrictions on apps that used an API for call recording after the rope.

The call recording feature works separately for iOS and Android. The iPhone operating system is very limited when it comes to recording other people's calls, so Truecaller users will need to go to the Search page and click Record a call, which will cause the app to make a call to the recording line, which the company says is such their assigned special number.

Then, users can call the person they want to record the call and click the option to connect the two calls. Once the call is connected, recording will begin and the user will receive a push notification. The app maker said all recorded calls are stored locally on the device, but users can create backups on iCloud.

On Android, the process is a bit easier. The Truecaller dialer includes a dedicated recording, however.

The Truecaller dialer has a dedicated recording button to start and stop recording. If a user is not using the app’s dialer, they will see a floating button to record. For both platforms, when the call is completed, the push notification will show when the text is resolved. The essays are written in English and Hindi. Users can listen to recordings, rename them, delete unwanted ones, or share them with other apps.

It is worth noting that Google Pixel 8 series and older generation supported models, as well as Galaxy AI supports Samsung smartphones already have built-in features for transcription of calls in real time but users whose smartphone does not have such a feature can use Truecaller charged. This is part of the app's paid features, and users will need to enroll in Truecaller's Premium plan. The premiums in India start from a monthly fee of Rs. 75 and the annual rate is Rs. 529.

Conclusion: In a world where efficient communication is paramount, Truecaller's call recording and AI transcription features set new standards for convenience, reliability, and innovation. As users across India embrace the transformative power embracing these types, Truecaller remains at the forefront of communication technology future planning.
