Toyota will delay the production of electric vehicles in 2026 in North America. The production of electric vehicles will be delayed due to design adjustments, the Nikkei Business Daily reported.

Issues with supply and governance have led Toyota to push back the production of electric vehicles in the US by six months. The production is expected to be around June 2026, sources told Reuters.

The Japanese automaker has informed its suppliers that the launch of its initial electric vehicle (EV) model will be at its factory in the US state of Kentucky. The three-row SUV - will be delayed by several months, the Nikkei said.
