COVID-19 and Driving Digital Care

As blended treatment starts to replace conventional therapy, Therapy Brands is determined to break through limitations and drawbacks. The company believes that innovation will bring to light new ways to evaluate, regulate, and promote these emerging therapy options.

COVID-19  is exacerbating the mental and behavioural situation in America—in addition to the health crisis already taking place.. Therapy Brands notes that a CDC study showed an increase in anxiety by three times from 8.1% to 25.5%, while depressive disorders increased by four times from 6.5% to 24.3% between 2019 and 2020. Over 13% of respondents started or increased drug or alcohol abuse since the start of the pandemic. Serious suicide consideration within the last 30 days more than doubled from a previous survey in 2018.

According to Therapy Brands, increased demand, waitl ists and lack of care options has placed the most vulnerable population at increased risk. As one of the most technologically advanced nations, the disparity in need and supply is untenable. The economic costs are becoming starker as the realization of the negative impact of not providing therapy for stigmatized illnesses hits hard.

These factors and more have created an opportunity for Therapy Brands to be of service to the market. The company offers integrated solutions to help its customers better serve the underserved populations of mental, behavioral, substance use recovery, applied behavior analysis (ABA) and physical rehabilitation populations. The company’s HIPAA-compliant telehealth, therapy-focused software, and digital messaging have allowed patients and physicians to maintain not only the continuity of patient care but the continuity of the business, as well. With the increased use of these technologies for therapeutic care comes greater patient engagement, improved data collection, and more efficient workflows.
