The left-handed opener is now the first Indian woman and the second in the world to score 4000 runs in the T20I format.

Smriti Mandhana made history during the opening match against Sri Lanka in Vizag. She is now the first Indian player to cross 4,000 runs in Women's T20 Internationals. Suzie Bates from New Zealand is the only player who has reached this milestone before her. Mandhana needed 18 runs before the game started; she reached the mark during a strong opening partnership. The star batter scored 25 runs from 25 balls during the innings.
