Ousmane Dembele and Aitana Bonmati Win FIFA Best Awards 2025

The Best FIFA Football Awards 2025 were presented in Doha's Qatar, on Tuesday at Fairmont Katara Hall. Paris Saint-Germain's forward Ousmane Dembélé pulled off the Best FIFA Men's Player award after a dramatic season sealed by a historic Champions League victory. On the other hand, Barcelona’s midfielder Aitana Bonmatí made history by becoming a three-time champion.

Dembélé and Bonmati Reign Supreme in Doha

The FIFA Celebration 2025 Dinner in Doha was an opportune moment for Ousmane Dembélé and Aitana Bonmatí to cement their elite performance in the sport. Dembélé’s colleague and mentor also got to enjoy the limelight as the prestigious event was held at the Fairmont Katara Hall. Additionally, Bonmatí’s achievement simply emphasized her dominance across international sport throughout recent years.

Both athletes were honored by FIFA President Gianni Infantino in a ceremony attended by the most influential figures of football. Dembélé also gave a speech stating: “First of all, I'd like to thank all my team-mates, it turns out hard work pays off. It has been a fantastic year for me, both individually and as a team.”

Success for England as Wiegman and Hampton Secure Major Awards

England’s footballing superiority was once more showcased in the Qatar tournament as Sarina Wiegman and Hannah Hampton received the top prize. Sarina added to her already record-breaking success as she won the Best FIFA Women’s Coach for the fifth time running.

This achievement comes after her masterclass display as she led the Lionesses to a successful Euro 2025 campaign. She was joined by the Chelsea FC Goalkeeper, Hannah Hampton, who won the Best FIFA Women’s Goalkeeper prize. Some of the players who made it to the exclusive FIFA FIFPRO Women's World 11 also belong to the same team.

Celebrating the collective effort, Wiegman shared, “This award is for players and staff. We have shown so much conviction, belief and togetherness which led us to our second Euros win.” Hampton echoed this gratitude, saying: “Thank you very much to everyone who voted. It is greatly appreciated and it really means a lot.”
