Ian Healy is absolutely fuming. The Aussie legend went on a massive five-minute rant. He is angry because Mitchell Marsh’s team just got kicked out of the T20 World Cup. They lost to Zimbabwe and Sri Lanka in back-to-back matches. Then a rainy day in Pallekele finished them off. Healy didn’t hold back. He said the team has “duped us” all. He thinks the fans were lied to about how good this squad actually was.

Healy called this a “low point” for Australian cricket. He compared the mess to England’s 4-1 loss in the Ashes. He thinks the management was too arrogant. They picked a “power team” for spinning tracks in Sri Lanka and India. It was a total fail. He mocked the selection of Cooper Connolly. Healy asked why a kid who hasn't made double figures in six games was in the XI. He called the whole setup an “unbalanced mess” with no logic.

The injuries didn't help, but Healy says that is no excuse. Pat Cummins and Josh Hazlewood were already out. But dropping top batsmen for more all-rounders was a “misguidance.” Healy says the team is full of “finishers” but has no “starters.” They couldn't even get going in the powerplay. He blamed coach Andrew McDonald for losing his way. He feels the top brass has become a “cushy little club” that forgot how to fight.

Healy wants a total cleanup. He said Connolly needs to wait until Glenn Maxwell retires before even being considered. He told the youngster to go back and learn the basics. To Healy, the grit and “batsmanship” are gone. He is tired of the excuses about “finicky conditions.” He wants the players to stop being soft.
