Platform X introduces new features to Audio and video calling, revolutionizing communication
Elon Musk, the owner of social media company X, formerly known as Twitter, has stated that the platform will launch an early version of audio and video calling for a limited number of users. Driven by his billionaire status, X is evolving into an "everything app." Musk called this feature's activation guide, found on the platform, an "Early version of video & audio calling on X."
Since Musk acquired the social media firm about a year ago, the platform has seen several additions to its fundamental functionality. This most recent innovation is one of them. After Twitter rebranded as X, Musk announced his plan to turn the platform into a super-app that would provide a variety of services, from peer-to-peer payments to social networking and messaging.
Musk had hinted earlier in August that customers would be able to use these capabilities on PCs, Google's Android, and Apple's iOS without needing a phone number. A subscription package called "Not a Bot," which costs the equivalent of US$1 (Rs83) a year and is accessible to users in the Philippines and New Zealand, is presently in the trial phase at X. Individuals who choose not to subscribe will still be able to access content, follow other accounts, and log in, but they will not be able to participate in actions such as liking, tweeting, sharing, or bookmarking content. This subscription is only available to new users and is meant to be used with the platform's browser, not its mobile app.
X has presented this concept as a way to deter the use of automated bots, as suggested by its moniker, not a Bot. Bots are accounts that run automatically from scripts; they are frequently made by malevolent people who want to spread misinformation and drive more traffic to their advertisements. They are widely distributed on X in addition to several other platforms, such as Facebook and Instagram.
