Say Goodbye to Downloads with Samsung’s Gaming Hub—23 Free Games Instantly on Galaxy Phones, No Setup Needed
Samsung has announced its Gaming Hub, a cloud gaming service that works through Galaxy smartphones. The service lets users stream and play hundreds of Android games directly from their phones, as opposed to downloading them on their devices. Thus far, the application has been launched only in North America, and in the future it will be available in other regions.
The main advantage of this Gaming Hub is that it saves some storage space as games would be streamed instead of having the users download them. This therefore comes in handy for people who lack enough storage on their devices. Its primary benefit is that it runs the games very smoothly, irrespective of the hardware specifications of the Galaxy smartphones. Some of them are able to run high-quality games through even the older or mid-range models.
The Samsung Gaming Hub: Instant Play, No Subscriptions
Gaming Hub completely integrates with Samsung's Galaxy Store, which has users playing games instantly after clicking on an ad or game listing. There's no account setup or wait time. Just click, and the game is on – while conventional gaming services make users wait through a long download process.
Upon launch, Gaming Hub boasts a selection of free-to-play Android games, including titles such as Monopoly Go, Candy Crush Saga, and Honor of Kings. Unlike many other cloud gaming services, paywalls or a monthly subscription to see the games are nonexistent. Samsung's platform is completely free, a move that could dramatically disrupt the mobile gaming market.
Samsung Gaming Hub Aims To Change the Face of Mobile Gaming
According to Jong Woo, Vice President of Game Services at Samsung, the platform would drastically change the mobile gaming landscape for players and publishers alike.
Since it takes out a critical download step and provides instant, on-demand access, Gaming Hub dramatically boosts user acquisition and engagement. To illustrate the impact, during the beta test, 50% of the users who clicked on an ad for a game began playing the app immediately incredibly good conversion rate in comparison to industry benchmarks.
Samsung is, therefore, well positioned to become a big player in the extremely competitive cloud gaming space, allowing users to enjoy a smooth, hassle-free gaming experience and saving them storage. The service is likely to scale fast, with more games and regions, of course, to be added soon.
