President Murmu Warns Against AI Misuse

President Droupadi Murmu addressed the 111th convocation of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, emphasizing the dual nature of technology. While acknowledging the benefits of artificial intelligence in simplifying lives, she warned against AI misuse.

She particularly mentioned deepfake video creation and emphasized the threat it poses to society. Murmu stressed the importance of moral value-based education to guide responsible technology use.

The president also commended the role of girls in education, expressing satisfaction that over half of the degree holders at the ceremony were female. She asserted that investing in girls' education is a crucial contribution to the country's progress.

Murmu urged students to embrace continuous learning in the rapidly evolving technological landscape and emphasized the significance of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 in promoting Indian ethos and values.

Addressing the gathering, Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis emphasized the pivotal role of universities in advancing the nation by creating a skilled human resource.

Union minister Nitin Gadkari highlighted the importance of transforming knowledge into wealth and underscored that achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of a USD 5 trillion economy relies on knowledge and education.
