AI Bot

If politicians look into their phones or tablets, we believe they are reading something important. But, how do we guarantee that they are doing something important related to the meeting or conference and not passing time by playing games? Welcome a new AI tool called the ‘The Flemish Scrollers’. This AI Bot identifies politicians in the Flemish region of Belgium when they are distracted and utilize their smartphones during conferences, which are broadcast live. It recognizes them leveraging the power of artificial intelligence (AI) as well as posts the outcomes on Twitter. The bot even recognizes political delegates it finds diverted by phones and different devices.

The Twitter bio of The Flemish Scrollers (@FlemishScroller) states, "Automatically tagging distracted Belgian politicians when they use their phone on the daily livestreams. This with the help of AI."

How Does it Work?

The Flemish Scrollers is coded in Python. Machine learning is used to identify phones and facial recognition technology to detect distracted politicians. The most important fact in Belgium, every government processing is a live broadcast on YouTube. Once the live broadcast starts, machine learning looks for phones and then detects distracted politicians. Later on, the AI software posts the videos of such distracted politicians on Twitter as well as tagging them.
