Kohli's stance on family presence during cricket tours

India's 1-3 Test series loss to Australia has led to a reduction in players' family time on extended tours. Despite this, Virat Kohli emphasized the importance of having family around on long tours, citing its potential to help players cope with on-field pressures.

The BCCI has introduced new rules restricting family time on extended tours amid rumors of discipline and unity issues within the team during India's recent 1-3 Test series loss in Australia. Players will now be allowed family time for only 14 days on tours lasting over 45 days.

In the RCB’s Innovation Lab Summit in Bengaluru, Virat Kolhi said that it is grounding to get back to family time whenever there are intense times on the field.

“I don’t think people have an understanding of what value it brings,” said the former captain.

Virat Kohli’s response to the new rule

Kohli was spotted with Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma in Dubai during India's Champions Trophy campaign, while Rohit Sharma's wife Ritika Sajdeh and daughter Samaira were also present during the victorious campaign.

This support helps players take responsibility for their performance and return to life after completing their responsibility, emphasizing the importance of family support in improving players' performance

He said that having family around helps players take responsibility for their performance and treat their game as a responsibility. He believes that after completing his commitment, he will return home to his family, where normalcy and family life continue.

He sees this as a day of immense pleasure and plans to spend time with his family whenever possible. He believes that this balance between work and family is essential for his success.

BCCI’s Policy

The BCCI has implemented regulations that restrict the duration and timing of family visits during tours, depending on the length of the tour, with stricter limitations on shorter tours and longer tours as well.

The argument revolves around balancing the player's need for personal support with the player’s mental well-being and overall performance. Virat Kohli expects to have more flexibility regarding family cricketers on tour, while BCCI wants to maintain a disciplined and rapt environment.
