Tejashwi Yadav Prepares Party Workers to Monitor Bihar Counting Amid NDA’s Early Lead and Tension

Tejashwi Yadav has openly warned election‑counting officials in Bihar not to repeat the counting mistakes of 2020 as the results of the November 14 assembly election approach. He said that if any official acts on someone’s orders or engages in any unfair practice during the count, the public will respond immediately.

Yadav Accuses NDA of Manipulating Count

In a press briefing held in Patna, he claimed that the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is “anxious and restless” because they sense they are headed out of power. He dismissed several exit polls favouring the NDA and insisted his alliance, the Mahagathbandhan, will form the next government.

Yadav said intelligence inputs indicate a planned strategy to slow down the counting process in seats where the party is strong. He alleged officials have been instructed to delay declaring the Mahagathbandhan wins and push NDA wins first. He warned that this would amount to unconstitutional and unfair behaviour, and that workers are already stationed at all counting centres to monitor the process.

Referring to the 2020 election, Yadav said that if the administration repeats “their 2020 mistake again”, particularly by acting on orders, the public will take care of it. He urged the Election Commission of India to ensure a transparent and fair process and said all social and political workers who care for Bihar and its constitution remain alert, ready, hopeful, and confident.

Ahead of the count, he also held an online meeting with all his party candidates and district‑level office bearers. The meeting dealt with detailed guidelines for monitoring the counting, and he instructed workers to remain watchful and uncompromising in protecting the public mandate.

Early Trends Show NDA Lead

Yadav’s warning arrives at a time when early trends show the NDA comfortably ahead in the vote count. Leading media outlets project the NDA may cross the two‑thirds mark, leaving the Mahagathbandhan struggling to match its previous performance.

The significance of Yadav’s message goes beyond counting mechanics. It raises the larger question of election integrity in a high-stakes contest in Bihar, where the outgoing alliance feels vulnerable and the incoming opposition senses an upset. His remarks also reflect the deep distrust between political blocs, and the possibility of disputes over results.

Despite the bleak early trends for his alliance, Yadav remains unshaken. He reiterated his belief in a Mahagathbandhan victory and said his side will resist any attempt to manipulate the process. At the same time, his warning signals to officials and allies that the opposition is prepared to contest any irregularity or delay.

Tejashwi Yadav’s message stands as a bold call for fairness, a challenge to the establishment and a reminder that the counting day may not simply be a matter of numbers but of trust and accountability.
