Delhi Court Sends Naseer Bilal to NIA Custody for a Week While Soyab Gets Judicial Remand
The legal proceedings of a car bomb explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi on 10 November 2025, which killed at least 15 people, are underway. The Delhi Court has sent one of the accused in the case to the custody of the NIA and has sent another to judicial custody. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) is currently engaged in figuring out the network behind the car-borne IED blast.
Deepening Probe into Terror Logistics
The officials are specifically investigating how this vehicle was acquired for the attack. Dr. Bilal Naseer Malla is charged with knowingly harbouring the dead Umar-un-Nabi by providing him logistical support. He also faces charges regarding the destruction of evidence related to the 10 November incident. The NIA is coordinating with multiple state police forces to trace the broader conspiracy.
They are pursuing the lead to find other suspects as well as the extent of the module. A unique perspective would be the utilization of the credentials of the medical professionals as a means to evade high-security gates during the planning process. If the doctors were actually the masterminds, the fact that they were professionals may have protected logistics from surveillance. This poses a deep question on the white-collar involvement in the urban terror attacks.
Custody Updates for Key Accused Persons
A Delhi court recently extended the NIA custody of Dr. Naseer Bilal Malla by seven more days. Meanwhile, the co-accused Soyab was remanded to five-day judicial custody following the expiry of his previous term. Both suspects were produced before Principal and Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna amid tight security.
The court proceedings were conducted in a closed room, and media persons were barred from covering them. The Sessions Judge Anju Bajaj Chandna allowed the probe agency to interrogate Naseer in its custody for seven more days.
Presently, nine individuals have been arrested in connection with this deadly blast. The discrepancy in custody types suggests that the NIA has likely completed its primary interrogation of Soyab. However, the extended grill for Naseer indicates he holds deeper keys to the group's hierarchy. This suggests he is much more than a local facilitator in the investigation.
