CES 2025 Breakthrough: Snapdragon X by Qualcomm Redefines Affordability and AI Performance

The biggest news from CES 2025 came from Qualcomm, which revealed the Snapdragon X, a new entrant in the Snapdragon X Series. This platform is designed to provide more advanced computing performance while keeping the PCs affordable. The target price for Snapdragon X is $600, making AI-powered laptops affordable for students, freelancers, and budget-conscious users.

The Snapdragon X platform runs an 8-core Qualcomm Oryon CPU, so this means smooth running of day-to-day activities without any hitches. It integrates a Neural Processing Unit (NPU) capable of 45 TOPS and accelerates AI-related tasks by at least that measure. According to Qualcomm, the platform outperforms similar processors by up to 163 percent, saving a lot on power consumption.

This platform doesn't just improve laptops but also unlocks new form factors. Qualcomm announced plans for mini desktop PCs based on Snapdragon X. These are perfect for users with portable and versatile computing solutions.

Advancing AI with Snapdragon

Snapdragon X supports over 50 AI-powered features on Windows 11 and is part of the growing AI ecosystem. With cloud storage tools and advanced security apps, this platform brings smarter capabilities for Copilot+ PCs.

Even developers accept this platform; they create an app tailored specifically to Snapdragon capabilities, such as Moises Live, a music production app led by AI.

A Wider Market Access

Laptops built with leading brands like Acer, Asus, Dell, HP, and Lenovo are getting ready to be launched into the market in early 2025, promising extended battery life and efficient multitasking. It is also at a price point that provides access to high-performance PCs.

Snapdragon X is an effort by Qualcomm to change the shape of the PC market. Building upon affordability, AI, and innovation—connecting ordinary users to smarter technology without compromise—is an excellent effort from Qualcomm.
