After reaching Navi Mumbai, the Prime Minister visited the newly built Navi Mumbai International Airport. Following the inauguration of the airport, PM Modi will also launch various projects across Mumbai.

Mumbai’s first fully underground Metro corridor will become fully operational after the inauguration of the 10.99-km-long final stretch between Acharya Atre Chowk and Cuffe Parade stations. Running from 5.55 am to 10.30 pm, at least 13 lakh passengers can travel daily between Aarey JVLR and Acharya Atre Chowk.

Engineering Marvel
Started in 2017 under the Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Ltd (MMRCL), with more than 15,000 workers involved at peak construction, this metro line created a national record of deploying 17 Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs) simultaneously, a triumph in underground construction.
Key Connectivity Hubs
Improving the intermodal travel, the Aqua Line will connect seamlessly with the Central Railway at CSMT and the Western Railway at Mumbai Central and Churchgate. The line enhances access to Nariman Point, Fort, Kalbadevi, RBI, BSE, and Mantralaya, easing travel for professionals working in the city’s core business and administrative zones. This line will provide direct Metro access to Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport from south Mumbai, which is a major relief for air travellers.
Fares Breakdown
Commuters travelling up to 3 km will have to pay a minimum cost of Rs. 10, while those covering a distance between 3 km and 12 km will be charged Rs. 20. For traveling between 12 km and 18 km, people will have to pay Rs. 30, and those commuting 18 to 24 km will be charged Rs. 40. For longer commutes, fares have been set at Rs. 50 for 24 km-30 km, and Rs. 60 for 30 km-36 km.
Mumbai One App
Alongside the metro launch, PM Modi also unveiled “Mumbai One”, a common mobility app for 11 transport operators, including Mumbai Metro Lines 1, 2A, 7, Aqua Line 3, Monorail, Navi Mumbai Metro, suburban rail, and BEST. The app allows digital ticketing, multimodal trip planning, and cashless payments, reducing queues and simplifying commutes.
Now, commuters can travel the entire distance from Aarey to Cuffe for Rs 70 and, most importantly, in less than an hour. This metro connectivity will significantly reduce road congestion, signal delays, and monsoon-related flooding, saving time, fuel, and nature.
