Apple Plans Big Siri Improvements and AI Tools for iOS 27, Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2026 Could be the Launch Pad
Apple is betting big on iOS 27, its next major iPhone software update. The company will likely show it at the Worldwide Developers Conference in June 2026. Early reports suggest the update will focus on making Siri smarter, adding new AI features, and improving overall performance.
According to Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman, Apple wants to fix quality issues with this release. The company plans to address bugs, visual problems, and slowdowns that some users experienced with iOS 26. Performance improvements appear to be a top priority.
Siri is expected to get significant upgrades in iOS 27. While iOS 26 brought some changes, this update could deliver the major improvements users have been waiting for. The voice assistant may become more conversational and better at understanding context. It could remember past conversations, handle follow-up questions more smoothly, and offer helpful suggestions based on how you use your phone. Siri might also show relevant reminders, travel information, or app suggestions without you having to ask.
Apple Intelligence will expand with new AI tools. Reports say Apple is working with Google's Gemini to add more features. One major addition could be a smart Calendar that suggests meeting times and adjusts your schedule based on emails, messages, and your habits. Apple may also launch a Health+ subscription service that uses Apple Watch data to give personalized nutrition and wellness advice.
Several built-in apps will get updates, too. The Photos app may organize pictures better with improved sorting and search. AirPods should connect faster and more reliably. Safari might add an AI search feature called "World Knowledge Answers" that gives conversational responses instead of regular search results. The Health app could use AI to spot patterns in your data and explain them in simple terms, similar to advice from a doctor.
iOS 27 may also prepare for Apple's first foldable iPhone, rumored to launch in 2026. The software is expected to support larger and more flexible screens.
Apple will likely announce iOS 27 at WWDC in June, with a developer beta available immediately. A public test version should arrive in July, and the final release will come later in the year with new iPhones.
