US Opens Doors to Indian Talent: Trump Unveils 'Gold Card' Visa Program

President Donald Trump has announced a “Gold Card” visa program that will allow American companies to hire Indian graduates from US universities. This initiative shall offer Indian students a remarkable advantage toward US citizenship.

Trump expects to generate significant revenue after this initiative, which might as well replace the existing EB-5 visa program.

“We are going to be selling a Gold Card,” demands a whoop of USD 5 trillion. “If we sell a million, that’s USD 5 trillion dollars,” suggests the US president. Trump considers this initiative a probable source of funds for the US economy. He also added that the outcoming revenue would reduce the national debt.

The EB-5 visa currently offers residency for investors who invest more than a million dollars in businesses that create jobs. Trump believes that wealthy individuals can be attracted by the “Gold Card” scheme.

A new opportunity for Indian graduates in US

In Trump’s first cabinet meeting of his second term on Thursday, he mentioned that Indian graduates can be hired by American companies within the program, highlighting how the young minds and skilled professionals, mainly from India, are unable to stay in the country after their education due to the current immigration policies.

Trump mentioned, “A person comes from India, China, Japan, lots of different places, and they go to Harvard, the Wharton School of Finance... they are made job offers, but the offer is immediately rescinded because you have no idea whether the person can stay in the country.”

He also addressed the fact that all graduates return to their home countries and become successful entrepreneurs.
“They go back to India, or they go back to the country where they came from, and they set up a company, and they become billionaires,” Trump said, pointing out it is a loss to the US economy.

In countries like Portugal and Europe, this initiative has already been implemented, offering “Gold Visa” with permanent residency to people who invest at least 500,000 euros.

Trump’s Assurance

The US President has insisted, “They’ll be wealthy, they’ll be successful, and they’ll be spending a lot of money, paying a lot of taxes, and employing a lot of people, and we think it’s going to be extremely successful.”

The "Gold Card" visa program by Trump can bring a new dimension to the US immigration space, offering a streamlined pathway to residency for Indian graduates and wealthy individuals. With its hefty $5 million price tag, this program will surely attract high-net-worth individuals from India for a faster track to American citizenship.
