This performance is regarded as truly remarkable, as the movie had to compete with Thamma, a horror-comedy led by established actors like Ayushmann Khurrana and Rashmika Mandanna.
How did Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat Perform on Day 1?
Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat was released on Tuesday, 21 October 2025, earning Rs. 8.50 crore domestically on its first day. Reports from the trade tracker even implied that the movie will easily surpass Rs. 10 crore on day 1. Nevertheless, the movie has secured Rs. 8.50 crore, which is still commendable as it lacks star power.
As far as the romantic movies released in 2025 are concerned, Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat has become the second-highest opener after Saiyaara, which reached a record-breaking box office collection of Rs. 20.50 crore on day 1. It has successfully surpassed the net collection of other romantic dramas like Dhadak 2 and Metro In Dino, which grossed Rs. 4 crore and Rs. 3 crore respectively.

Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat, directed by Milap Zaveri, stars Harshvardhan Rane, Shaad Randhawa, Sachin Khedekar, and Sonam Bajwa in major roles. The main plot of the movie revolves around Vikram Aditya Bhosle (Harshvardhan Rane) and Adaa Randhawa (Sonam Bajwa). Vikram falls in love with Adda, but does not get any attention from her despite repeated attempts.
While talking to ANI, Milap Zaveri talked about the movie trailer, saying, “Our film is an intense romantic drama, with music that's already topping the charts, and the trailer shows just that - the dialogues, music, and the intensity of Sonam and Harshvardhan's performances.” He further added, “We are eager to see the audience's response to the trailer and hopefully they get more invested in our film.”
Initially, the movie was named “Deewaniyat”; however, it was later changed to the current title in May 2025. The film’s promotion strategy was unique and appreciated by the fans, as the lead actor, Harshvardhan Rane, himself was spotted selling the movie tickets at the box office. Additionally, he pasted stickers and bills at several places in Mumbai requesting the audience to watch his movie in theatres.
