The Poor Visibility Led to a Multi-vehicle Pile-up on Delhi-Agra Expressway in Mathura
13 people lost their lives and several others were injured in a major road accident on the Delhi-Agra Expressway in Mathura on Tuesday (December 16, 2025) morning. Reports confirmed that seven buses and three cars collided due to dense fog.
Delhi-Agra Expressway Accident

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shlok Kumar had earlier in the day confirmed the details of the accident. He added, "As you can observe, it is still foggy here. Fog Caused Similar Recent Accidents
The collision on the Yamuna Expressway in Mathura follows a similar incident just one day prior, when dense fog resulted in a deadly multi-vehicle collision involving approximately 20 vehicles on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway early Monday (December 15, 2025) morning.
On Monday, fog led to the deaths of three people, two of them police officers, in two separate road accidents involving multiple vehicles in Haryana’s Sonipat and Nuh districts. In the Nuh pileup, two people, including a CISF Inspector, were killed on the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
In Sonipat, a female assistant sub-inspector of police was killed when the car in which she was travelling for work hit a truck that was taking a wrong turn on the highway, police said.
The accident, which occurred around 5:00 am, resulted in the deaths of four people, including two police officers, and left an estimated 15 to 20 others seriously injured.
UP CM Adityanath announced Rs 2 lakh each to the kin of the deceased, and Rs 50,000 each to the injured.
