FBI Pursues Gujarat Man on 10 Most Wanted List for Wife’s 2015 Murder in Maryland

The FBI is stepping up its search for Bhadreshkumar Chetanbhai Patel, a 34-year-old man from Gujarat, India, who committed a brutal crime nearly a decade ago. Patel is wanted for the murder of his wife, Palak, in April 2015 while they worked a late-night shift at a Dunkin' Donuts in Hanover, Maryland.

Shocking Murder in Dunkin' Donuts Backroom

The horrifying incident unfolded in the backroom of the shop, where Patel allegedly stabbed Palak multiple times with a kitchen knife.

The act was reportedly caught on surveillance cameras, which showed the couple heading to the kitchen before vanishing from sight. Moments later, Patel is believed to have fled, leaving his wife fatally injured.

FBI’s Most Wanted: Patel Case Tied to Dispute Over Future

The FBI has put Patel on its notorious 10 Most Wanted Fugitives list. Patel is charged with counts of first-degree murder, second-degree murder, assault, and several other weapon-related offences. Still a high-priority target, the FBI has issued a warning that he is "armed and extremely dangerous."

A reward of up to $250,000 is being offered for information leading to his capture. Patel has managed to evade arrest for years of investigation. Officials believed that a disagreement over their future led to the tragedy. Reports indicate Palak wanted to return to India as their visas had expired while Patel was determined to stay in the U.S.

Public Assistance is Vital

The FBI claims that it will not let up on efforts to find Patel. The agency says that this is crucial to bring him to justice. Authorities have asked the public to come out and give any information about Patel's whereabouts.

This case raises the number of such heinous crimes that leave a mark for a long. Adding Patel to the 10 Most Wanted list makes his punishment and accountability very serious.
