Tesla CEO Elon Musk’s single emoji reaction to a viral post on X is drawing widespread condemnation, especially from Indians. The viral post tried to justify the colonization of India by the British using flawed arguments. The X user who shared the post is identified as Freedomain - with Stefan Molyneux, MA @StefanMolyneux.

Why are Indians Outraged at Elon Musk?

Elon Musk responded to a viral post about British rule in India with a "thinking face" emoji. The viral post he replied to claimed that colonization was not a real concept and that British people in India became Indian. 

This is what the X post by Stefan Molyneux said: “If Indians set foot in England and become English. Then the English who set foot in India became Indian. Therefore, the English did not rule India…”

What Was the Response to Musk’s Emoji Reaction?

Elon Musk’s reaction to the viral post is being termed as anti-Indian. Many users took to the online social media platform to school Tesla CEO. A user said, “If you want to defend the indefensible, have the spine to admit that you agree with the racist bigotry behind colonization.” They further added, “The way the British Empire depicted their enslaved colony India in their political cartoons is enough to let us know exactly how Indian the British were.” 

Another user pointed fingers directly at the X’s algorithm, saying that “You already tweaked your algorithm to spread against Indians.” A third user extended the same analogy in the viral post and said, “You and your dumb logic. True Q.E.D. will be when Indians in the UK loot trillions of the UK’s wealth and send it to India, take over power in the UK, enslave the population, and starve millions to death like Churchill did.” Some even clearly stated the difference between colonization and immigration.

To sum up, many people have regarded Stefan Molyneux's viral post as a baseless argument. However, Elon Musk’s emoji reaction sparked a heated conversation with many users accusing the Tesla CEO of tweaking the platform's algorithm against India.
