DRI Raid in Jagdishpura, Bhopal, Reveals a Synthetic Drug Factory Operated by a D-Company Henchman

The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) recently raided a home in Jagdishpura, Bhopal, and discovered a hidden synthetic drug factory run by Dawood Ibrahim's henchmen. On the surface, the building appeared to be a normal residence; however, investigators found a drug factory worth several crores.

What Did They Find in the Raid?

The DRI raid, conducted on 16 August, seized 61.20 kg of mephedrone (MD), a synthetic stimulant drug, also known as “meow-meow, ” whose worth is Rs. 92 crore.

The investigators also discovered 541 kg of raw chemicals, indicating that the operation was just one of potentially many in Madhya Pradesh. Intelligence agencies have estimated that Dawood, Umaid-ur-Rehman, and Salim “Dola” Ismail are receiving funds from Pakistan and Dubai to run these rackets. Producing mephedrone has been one of their most profitable rackets so far.

How is D-Company Executing these Illegal Operations?

Salim Dola, a former aide of Dawood’s right-hand man, Iqbal Mirchi, is said to be running these networks from Turkey. The factory discovered in Jagdishpura was not an ordinary drug factory but was equipped with all the advanced machinery. The primary instructor for this factory was Faisal Qureshi, a pharmacy diploma holder who graduated from Gujarat. He was accompanied by Razzaq Khan of Vidisha.

According to Salim Dola's instructions, all the chemicals needed to manufacture the mephedrone came from Thane and Bhivandi. The factory workers also admitted that 400 kg of chemicals had already been sent from Mumbai to Bhopal. They further confessed that they also involved residents in performing these operations and that the factory has been operating secretly behind the residential appearance for seven years.

This shocking discovery of a drug factory in a small village like Jagdishpura has set alarm bells ringing for a while now. Experts have warned that the discovery was just the tip of the iceberg and more could be waiting to be discovered, further adding that the underworld has shifted gears from guns and bullets to chemicals and cash.
