Allu Arjun’s Swag Sets Screens Ablaze – ₹930 Cr and Roaring!
Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule has set new benchmarks at the box office, grossing an astounding ₹875.57 crore in India within 11 days. The film earned ₹50.07 crore on Day 11 alone and has crossed ₹930 crore by Day 12. Of this, the Hindi version alone contributed ₹573 crore, showcasing its pan-Indian appeal.
This phenomenal performance has made Pushpa 2 the second-highest-grossing Indian film, surpassing RRR. Currently, only Baahubali 2: The Conclusion, with ₹1,030 crore, stands ahead.
A Phenomenal Start and Unstoppable Momentum
The film started on an empowering note, collecting ₹164 crore for the initial day. It collected ₹518 crore on the opening weekend, and ₹725.8 crore in the first week. It continued with the dominance in the second weekend and collected ₹175 crore more to gross over ₹900 crore in its total. Hence, with no big releases planned before December 25, Pushpa 2 has just walked past the ₹1,000 crore mark without breaking a sweat, leaving a strong mark in the history of Indian cinema.
Factors Driving the Success
The film’s major success is attributed to Allu Arjun’s brilliant performance as Pushpa Raj, making him a pan-India star through the Pushpa series. The successful use of mass appeal by Director Sukumar together with racy performances of high-voltage action and strong human emotions have left the audiences in awe of this thrilling action-drama.
Performances from Fahadh Faasil and Rashmika Mandanna itself are a treat to watch and Jagapathi Babu has given more strength to the film. Along with excellent performances, Devi Sri Prasad’s hit songs like ‘Kissik’ and ‘Pushpa Pushpa’ are equally contributing to Pushpa’s success.
Trade Insights and Hindi Market Impact
Trade analyst Komal Natha mentioned the Hindi region is dominated by Pushpa 2 and remarked, “It is significant that a South Indian film is once again poised to occupy the top spot. Baahubali 2: The Conclusion held the record in Hindi for 5-6 years until Jawan, Pathaan, Gadar 2, and Stree 2 came along. Now, after nearly two years of Hindi films holding the record, it might return to a South Indian production. It is certainly a cause for concern when a dubbed film outperforms Hindi films by such a wide margin.”
The Cultural Legacy of Pushpa
The Pushpa franchise has revolutionised pan-Indian cinema and has culminated into a cultural phenomenon. Allu Arjun in the role of Pushpa Raj is now a cult icon of people who rebel and survive against all odds across generations. The film’s extraordinary success has paved the way for Pushpa 3: The Rampage, the way the franchise persists in raising the bar for cinemas in India.
