Baahubali: The Epic, re-released in cinemas on October 31, is proving its timeless appeal at the box office. The Prabhas-led magnum opus collected an estimated Rs. 24.10 crore in India within just three days. It opened with Rs. 1.15 crore from the Telugu version on Thursday, followed by Rs. 9.65 crore on Friday, Rs. 7.30 crore on Saturday, and around Rs. 6 crore on Sunday.

Regional Reception and Language Split

The movie enjoyed a remarkable reception, especially in the South, where audiences continue to hold immense respect for director S.S. Rajamouli’s storytelling. The Telugu version ruled the box office, while the response in Hindi-speaking markets was a little less enthusiastic, even though the release was much larger. This indicates that Tollywood has not yet lost its grip on certain regions and that Prabhas and Rana Daggubati’s popularity among southern audiences is still going strong.

Despite the competition from films like Thamma, Baahubali: The Epic is showcasing the draw for consistent footfalls. Ayushmann Khurrana’s Thamma maintained steady numbers, earning around Rs. 4 crore each on its second Saturday and Sunday, pushing its total past Rs. 120 crore. Meanwhile, The Taj Story also gained momentum with a sharp rise in collections on Saturday, crossing Rs. 2.90 crore over two days.

The re-release coincided with the Shah Rukh Khan Film Festival, which celebrated classics like Devdas, Main Hoon Na, and Om Shanti Om. These titles diverted some audience attention in multiplex circuits, especially in the North. 

Baahubali's cosmic visual effect and epic storytelling still managed to draw the crowd of repeat viewers and the young ones rediscovering it on the big screen for the very first time.
