Priyanka Chopra Confirms Antarctica Shoot for SS Rajamouli’s Globetrotting Epic Varanasi in Viral Social Media Exchange With Mahesh Babu

Priyanka Chopra has confirmed big news about her next movie, Varanasi. She told fans that the team will film parts of the movie in Antarctica. This makes Varanasi the first Indian film to ever shoot on that frozen continent.

 The news came out during a chat on social media with her co-star, Mahesh Babu. Mahesh Babu praised Priyanka for her work in her new Hollywood film The Bluff. Priyanka thanked him. She said she would see him soon in Antarctica.

Director SS Rajamouli is leading this massive project. The film also stars Prithviraj alongside Mahesh Babu and Priyanka. The story is a sci-fi adventure about time travel. It features a lost civilization hidden deep under the Ross Ice Shelf.

In the movie's story, an asteroid hit that location in 2027. Rajamouli wants to show the world the real icy landscapes. He is using special IMAX cameras to film these scenes. The production team plans to leave for the shoot in late February.

The actors must face very cold weather and harsh conditions. Very few movies have ever been filmed in Antarctica. Only five international films, like The Thing and Eight Below, have done this. Priyanka recently spoke about the movie on a talk show. She said they had already finished 14 months of work. There are still six months of filming left to go. The movie should be released in theaters in April 2027.
