Kia EV3 SUV redefines driving with OpenAI ChatGPT Voice Assistant Integration
South Korean automaker Kia has unveiled the EV3 compact SUV. The headline features include an intelligent voice assistant, a first for the company’s electric vehicles. The AI assistant is reportedly powered by ChatGPT, an AI chatbot powered by Microsoft-backed OpenAI.
Kia, the head of customer experience design, told TechCrunch in a statement that the big language model (LLM) behind the company’s AI assistant is OpenAI’s ChatGPT. Still, it has been changed significantly,” he said.
The AI-powered voice assistant in the EV3 SUV is an enhanced version of its voice assistant technology. It first debuted in the company's compact sedan Kia K4 Voice assistant to give customers new options with the car's equipment in terms of communication and compliance. Combining generative AI with technology allows Kia’s voice assistant to engage in natural conversations with users.
With the AI voice assistant, users will be able to plan trips, control the vehicle’s entertainment settings, and use generative properties to search for information, Kia said. Kia said the integration of generative AI with the voice assistant will start with the EV3 model and later roll out to the company’s other EVs.
The Kia EV3 with ChatGPT-powered AI assistant will debut in the company’s home country in July, followed by a European launch in the “second half of the year”. TechCrunch reported that Kia is expected to expand sales of the EV3 model to other regions as well, but there has been no official confirmation from the company.
Conclusion: Kia’s commitment to innovation shines through with this merger, setting a new standard for in-vehicle connectivity and shaping the future of transportation. As the automotive industry continues to evolve, the Kia EV3 SUV with OpenAI ChatGPT Voice Assistant is at the forefront of intelligent driving solutions, promising a more enjoyable and satisfying driving experience for all.
