People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2024: John Krasinski takes the crown from reigning champion Patrick Dempsey

People Magazine has chosen John Krasinski, 45, as the Sexiest Man Alive for 2024. He was presented with the title on Tuesday during a live broadcast of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert. Krasinski was known for his portrayal of Jim Halpert on The Office and came from films like A Quiet Place, A Quiet Place Part II, and Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan. He thus passes the title from last year's honoree, Patrick Dempsey.

The unveiling was full of comedy as Stephen Colbert appeared with a gig where he gets pouty when he didn't get the prize himself. “Stephen, it's all right. All right, you're not the sexiest man alive, but who cares? Who is, except for me apparently,” Krasinski teased. Colbert then playfully admitted, “I'm jealous. I wish I could be as sexy as The Office alum.”

To which, Krasinski responded, “Stephen, you can. You just have to follow the same six-step process that I did.” Colbert went further in his question, saying, “Are you saying there's a program you can follow?” Krasinski quipped and said, “There sure is. In fact, I even made an instructional video.”

The bit then cut to a parody infomercial created by Krasinski, outlining his “six-step process to becoming sexy.” The fake steps included an avoidance of junk food, a diet of water and raw egg yolks, and stealing the sexy DNA from 2022's Sexiest Man Alive, Chris Evans. It all ended with a “sexy transformation,” leading Colbert briefly to appear as Evans. “I feel amazing! I feel like the Sexiest Man Alive,” Evans said, using Colbert's voice. Krasinski cheekily countered with, “Sure, maybe in 2022, but this year it's me.”

Krasinski is married to actress Emily Blunt. The couple has been together since 2010 and has two daughters, Hazel and Violet. With People’s Sexiest Man Alive crown, Krasinski just added a new title to his list of accomplishments in his career.
