HMD Global Initiates Smartphone Rebranding, Bids Farewell to Nokia Label
HMD Global, the exclusive licensee of Nokia-branded phones for the past eight years, said on Wednesday that it will no longer use the iconic Nokia name in upcoming product launches HMD Global has redesigned Nokia's social handles and rebranding the website as Human Mobile Devices (HMD). Once completed, the Nokia.com/Phones URL is redirected to the HMD Global website. HMD Global unveiled the teaser video, highlighting the brand’s commitment to serve a wider range of customers in the market.
The Nokia.com/phones website now switches to HMD.com. Its X ID has now been moved to @HMDglobal instead of @nokiamobile to reflect the company’s change. According to HMD’s official website, the company has kept an original HMD logo along with the launch of phones from a brand new partnership. "We're still a maker of Nokia smartphones and Nokia dumbphones, but we're getting warmed up to bring you even more, including original HMD devices, and phones from all-new partnerships" the website reads. The portfolio will include smartphones, tablets and feature phones around.
In a teaser video shared on the company's website, HMD Global has revealed Human Mobile Devices, now the emphasis behind that acronym. It says HMD is the "maker of Nokia phones".

Apart from that, HMD Global t will launch a feature phone with 5G connectivity including wireless earbuds and upcoming tablets.
According to a recent 91Mobiles report, a leaked render of the Cyan-colored smartphone with HMD logo on the back was spotted. The device displayed a dual rear camera setup, accentuated by Cyan details around the camera rings.
