Google's Circle to Search Now Available for iPhone Users: Seamless

Google’s latest visual search feature, Circle to Search, launched earlier this year on the Samsung Galaxy S24 series and the Google Pixel 8 series has spread to several other smartphones in recent months.

However, unlike its Android counterpart, the iOS Shortcut for Circle to Search has a few limitations and relies on Google Lens.

Google Lens design manager Minsang Choi announced new shortcuts for the Google app for iOS via a post on X (formerly Twitter) called "Search your screenshot," the feature allows users to create a custom action called "Search Image With Lens" through the Shortcuts app. When activated, the shortcut takes a screenshot and uses Google Lens to analyze the image details.

Android users can easily access the Circle to Search feature by holding down the navigation bar, while iPhone users can customize the import of a Shortcut by pressing the Action button on the iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max. You can set it Shortcut down by continuing to Back Tap and double or triple tap the icon.

How to use Google Circle to search on iPhone

To use Shortcut on iPhone, you need to have iOS 13 or later installed and download the latest Google app for iOS. You can access the Shortcut directly by clicking on the link provided by Choi.

On your iPhone, alternatively, you can choose to set the Shortcut manually by choosing "Take a screenshot" followed by "Search Image with Lens". This allows users to quickly copy, translate, or visually search text from a screenshot. First, though you have to select "Always Mallow" to make photos last longer.

Also, you need to install the latest iOS 17.4 OS version on your iPhone. You can move the cursor box around what you want to see, even if the wrong object was initially selected by the screenshot in Google Lens.

Conclusion: In a world where digital experiences play an increasingly important role in everyday life, Google’s search log represents a paradigm shift in how users engage with search technology. Whether on Android or iPhone, users can now start their research journey with a simple roundabout, unlocking a world of knowledge, insights, and possibilities with just a tap of a finger.
