Google’s AI ModelGoogle’s AI model is working towards simplifying texts on some of the worst handwriting!

To read a doctor’s prescription is a matter of both confusion and head scratches. Laymen like us find it extremely difficult to read a doctor’s prescription and properly understand the instructions given in the prescriptions. But now Google has a new solution for this that can end this trauma once and for all! During the latest Google for India event in 2022, a senior executive of the company claimed that the tech giant is working on developing an AI model that can read any handwriting, including a doctor’s! For developing Google’s AI model, the researchers have been in constant touch with pharmacists for various purposes including teaching the model to read any type of handwriting.

The company mentioned that the AI model will act as an assistive technology for digitizing handwritten medical documents by augmenting human intervention in this entire cycle. The output, however, will be based on the results yielded by this technology. Even though the company did not specifically declare a particular time frame for the launch of the model, they have made it pretty clear that there is still much work left to be done before the system is ready and safe to be presented to the world.

The company has also been working on its Google Lens. Already, Google Lens can recognize diverse things and translate languages. However, those who regularly need to understand handwritten notes will find this capability to be a useful addition.

The Google Lens must be used to snap a photo of any handwriting, and the AI will be able to read it and show it in a way that is device-friendly, according to early indications. The feature is anticipated to make its debut around the globe even if it was only revealed to the South Asian market at the event.
