It’s Raining, Sale! E-commerce Giant Amazon India Unveils Enhanced Commission Structure for Content Creators, Boosting Earnings by 1.5x-2x
The sale season is back! As the festive season is approaching, India’s leading e-commerce site, Amazon India is ready with its boosted incentives, lower prices and more earnings. In a significant announcement today, Amazon India announced a 2x hike in the commissions for over 50,000 creators.
Along with this, Amazon India also has strategized this move to uplift the morale of its creators to create more fruitful content as the ‘Amazon Great Indian Sale’ is just around the corner. Ahead of the sale season, Amazon’s move will provide much more content of higher quality resulting in increased earnings and ultimately, driving more profit.
The Great Indian Sale is all set to go live on September 27 and Aamzon’s support system is ready to take the load of incessant shopping. The sale also comes with an additional benefit for prime members, that is they will be given 24-hour early access to the sale. Hence, this move will work both for creators as well as customers.
Commission boost for creators is a pathway to more content leading to more consumers of Amazon products. Hence, Amazon India has launched a higher commission range for creators in 20+ categories. These categories with 1.5x to 2x increased income for creators include:
1. Fashion: According to Amazon’s official data, fashion is the most consumed category with a 27% hike from last year. Also, major content creators come from this genre.
2. Beauty and personal care appliances: With second on the list being beauty and personal care products and devices, these sell most on Amazon and its customers are driven from Instagram & Facebook.
3. Home: Ranking third on the most-selling list is home appliances as with sale during festive season make for the right moment to get big electronic appliances along with other home appliances.
4. Kitchen: Mostly bought during sale season due to the festive factor and the need to get new appliances. Kitchen appliances get major makeover during the sale season.
5. Toys: With content now accessible to all age groups, kids and their parents alike find great deals on toys during the sale season.
6. Books: Though lower in sales compared to other items on the list, books still tend to be in higher demand during festivals. Hence, creators in the lifestyle section popular promote books.
Apart from a general 1.5-2% hike in commission, Amazon also has added a 15-20% target incentive aimed at boosting creators’ creativity to create more engaging content, driving sales and more engagement.
According to the official statement by Amazon India, “This empowers creators to earn more during the peak shopping season and capitalise on the increased consumer demand during the Amazon Great Indian Festival (AGIF).”
As per the research study done by Ipsos Research study commissioned by Amazon India reveals an annual increase of 89% where participants expressed excitement for the festive season. Along with this, it further claimed that 71% of them plan to shop from Amazon Great Indian Sale.
"This enhanced support system will not only benefit creators but also translate into a more engaging and rewarding shopping experience for customers. Our goal is to provide a platform where creators can thrive, and customers can enjoy a seamless shopping experience," said Zahid Khan, Director, of Shopping Initiatives, Amazon India.
