DID YOU KNOW?
Normally, one would think players always had six attempts: This, however, is not a true statement. In the year 2013, Josh Wardle designed an early prototype of the game called "Mr. Bugs' Wordy Nugz," in which the player could solve puzzle after puzzle with no pre-set number of guesses.
It was only after Wardle considered that the word list should be shortened to 2,000 more familiar words that the six-guess limitation was then imposed in order to create more challenge and structure, hence the game we all know today.
