The appropriate dissolution of Meta's AI division has serious repercussions for the tech sector
According to The Information on Saturday, which cited an internal post, Meta Platforms is disbanding its Responsible AI team, which focuses on identifying and averting risks related to the artificial intelligence technology it is creating.
The majority of workers in the Responsible AI team will transfer to Meta's generative AI team, which was established in February, as the company allocates more resources to its generative AI efforts, the report stated. When Reuters reached out to Meta for comment, Meta did not answer right away.
The massive social media platform began releasing generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools in October. These tools allow advertisers to produce content for their platforms, such as image backgrounds and text variations.
Among the AI solutions offered by Meta are its "Llama 2" language model and Meta AI, an AI chatbot that can produce realistic-looking visuals and text responses.
