Armed Security Sparks Tension at Beau Monde After Rs 10-Crore Threat to Ranveer Singh

Things are getting tense at the Beau Monde residential tower in Prabhadevi. Bollywood couple Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone have scrambled to beef up their security this week. It started when Singh got a scary WhatsApp voice note from an unknown number. The sender was not playing around and demanded a massive ten crore rupees. To stay safe, the couple brought in six private armed guards. A uniformed Mumbai Police officer is now also parked at their home to keep an eye on things.

This situation has the film industry on edge, especially after someone opened fire near director Rohit Shetty’s place earlier this month. The Mumbai Crime Branch is digging into the digital trail to find out who sent that message. While there is plenty of talk about gang links, the cops have not officially named any suspects yet.

The extra security has created a bit of a war at home. The building’s management committee was not happy and sent a sharp letter to the Dadar Police Station on Tuesday. They are worried because these armed guards are walking through the lobby and the gym and even where the kids play. Residents say they never gave the green light for guns to be carried in shared spaces. They want the police to double-check if these guards have the right paperwork to be carrying weapons in a residential zone.

Despite the chaos Ranveer is still putting in the hours. He is busy filming the sequel to his 2025 hit Dhurandhar. The police are trying to balance protecting the stars with keeping the peace for the other families in the building. No one has been picked up yet but the investigation into the extortion demand is moving fast. The Crime Branch is checking if the voice note is linked to recent threats against other celebrities in the city.
