The Road to LBSNAA and Service Allocation

The Department of Personnel and Training (DoPT) will soon assign each person to a specific service depending on their rank, medical health, and the job they prefer.

After this, the candidates will go to the Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration (LBSNAA) in Mussoorie for training. Some candidates have to wait for an extended time before receiving an official response. Those in ‘Group B’ services or on the reserve list often wait six months for a final answer. This period offers them a chance to consider a change in career or try the UPSC CSE 2026 exam again.

As noted by Vision IAS in their recent analysis: "The marksheet of all candidates will be available on the website within 15 days from the date of declaration of result, allowing aspirants to assess the margin between their scores and the final cut-off."
