Best-Tech-Paycheck-Engineers-Find-Fortune-at-Google-and-Meta

This article compares the average salaries of software engineers at Google, Meta, Apple, Amazon, and Microsoft

According to recent statistics from Blind, an anonymous forum for IT employees, Google and Meta pay their software developers more than their colleagues in Big IT.

Meanwhile, Apple and Microsoft pay the least for entry-level engineers on average, yet remuneration for senior talent becomes more equal across Big Tech. Amazon's promotions often take longer than those of its competitors, and its pay ranges for engineers are the most diverse.

The information is based on compensation packages self-reported by Blind users between January of last year and this month. While public firms are required to reveal the average yearly income for all employees in comparison to that of their CEOs, level-specific pay data is jealously guarded unless you are seeking a specific job. Blind is an anonymous network, although it does need users to authenticate their workplace by entering their work email address.

"Meta engineers appear to be the fastest levelling up and have some of the highest pay."

"Microsoft has many job levels for software engineers, which may give the company more leeway in awarding promotions." However, until the position of staff software engineer, their overall remuneration is lower than that of their peers."
