Astrotalk also has made a record of conducting 6 million complimentary sessions
Astrotalk has experienced a major boost in revenue doubling to Rs 651 crore in FY24.
By the end of March 24, The startup has observed an increase in its net profit to ten-fold reaching Rs 94 crore.
Astrotalk Operate on a Revenue-Sharing Model
The Astrology startup has over 10,000 active astrologers operating on a revenue-sharing model. Its cost plan goes from as low as Rs 10 to as high as Rs 200 per minute.
“With our best-in-class tech and product, we were able to expand aggressively internationally as well as nationally,” Anmol Jain, Co-founder of Astrotalk said.
In the fiscal year 2024, Astrotalk boosted its marketing budget, seeing an increase in expenses under this category from Rs 74 crore to Rs 157 crore compared to the previous year. The total salary expenses for the year rose to Rs 30 crore from Rs 23 crore in FY23.
Further, Anmol said, “We were able to scale efficiently with similar fixed costs, hence demonstrating our superior business model. The increase in profits has come due to increased operational efficiencies across the entire marketing, product and service delivery chains.”
Astrotalk Made a Record of 6 Million Complimentary Sessions
At present, Astrotalk manages around 4.5 million paid interactions each month between its clients and astrologers. The company also has made a record of conducting 6 million complimentary sessions.
“In the next couple of years, we plan to increase our profit after tax to Rs 300-400 crore range, and eventually file for an IPO in 2026. We are also making strategic investments in e-commerce and devotional categories, and look forward to doing synergistic acquisitions this year,” he added.
The company has secured US$30 million in funding from investors such as Left Lane Capital, a New York-based firm, and Elev8 Ventures, and is currently worth $300 million.
Moreover, Anmol said that the company intends to grow organically this year by exploring possible acquisition opportunities.
