Alexander Wang Unveils On-Device AI Vision for India, Know What it Means for the Future
The big AI Impact Summit just happened and Meta dropped some huge news for India. On February 19, 2026, Alexander Wang, a top boss at Meta, gave a big speech. He talked about something called “Personal Superintelligence.” He thinks every single person in India should have their own AI that knows them perfectly. This isn't just a chatbot that answers questions. He wants an AI that lives on your phone and helps with everything you do every day. But some people are already worried about what this means for privacy in the future.
Wang said that India is the best place for this new tech. Why? Because the country has so many mobile users and a young population. He thinks a personal AI could help a farmer in a village or a student in a city equally. This AI would learn your habits and help you manage your money or even your health.
Meta is planning to release special tools that work in many Indian languages. And they want to make sure the AI works even on cheap smartphones. Wang says this is the only way to make sure everyone wins in the AI race.
But the speech wasn't just about cool apps. There was also a lot of talk about data. If every Indian has a personal bot, Meta will have access to a lot of private info. Wang tried to say that the data would stay on the user's device. He called it "on-device intelligence." He wants to prove that Meta can be trusted with your secrets. Still, experts at the summit were asking about how the government will regulate these bots. India is currently making new laws for AI safety that might slow things down.
The summit also showed that Meta is fighting hard against rivals like Google and OpenAI. They want to be the main AI brand in India. Wang finished his talk by saying that 2026 will be the year of the personal bot. He thinks that within two years, we won't remember how we lived without them.
