Dude OTT Premiere: Pradeep Ranganathan’s Rom-Com Set to Stream on Netflix from THIS Date

Pradeep Ranganathan’s rom-com Dude is set for its OTT debut after a successful run at the box office. The film, packed with fun and heartwarming moments, and is expected to draw young audiences after digital release.

The film, which was released in theaters on October 17, marked Keerthiswaran’s directorial debut in Tamil cinema and earned appreciation from both critics and audiences.

According to reports, Netflix has bagged the streaming rights to the film, which is expected to make its OTT premiere on November 14. Dude will be available in several languages, including Hindi.

However, fans are still waiting for an official confirmation from the makers and the streaming platform.

Dude’s Performance at the Box Office

The romantic comedy film went on to cross the 100 crore mark worldwide in 6 days. Upon its release, Dude managed to hold its own against some strong competition, including Dhruv Vikram’s Bison: Kaalamaadan and Harish Kalyan’s Diesel.

According to reports, the film has collected Rs 68.09 crore net in India and Rs 106 crore gross worldwide, with overseas earnings of Rs 27.4 crore. Dude was made on a modest budget of Rs 25-30 crore.

The Tamil rom-com became one of the favoured movies among the audience, supported by its engaging story, likable characters, and youthful vitality.

Story of Dude

Dude combines romance, comedy, and action. It follows the story of two childhood friends, Agan and Kural, who are also distant cousins. As time passes, Kural develops feelings for Agan, who rejects her initially. But then fate plays its own game. By the time Agan realizes he’s in love with Kural, her heart already belongs to someone else. What follows is a mix of humor, heartbreak, and selfless love in this entertaining rom-com. 

Pradeep Ranganathan delivers an endearing and goofy performance as Agan, along with Mamitha Baiju, who shines as the spirited Kural.

Produced by Naveen Yerneni and Y. Ravi Shankar under the banner of Mythri Movie Makers, Dude also stars R. Sarath Kumar, Hridhu Haroon, Rohini, Aishwarya Sharma, and Dravid Selvam.

Sai Abhyankkar's debut as a music composer is another highlight of the movie. His soulful soundtrack has matched flawlessly with the mood of the picture.

Pradeep’s Hattrick of 100 Cr

Upon entering the prestigious 100 Cr club, Pradeep shared a video on his X account to express his gratitude for this special milestone.

In the video, Pradeep spoke directly to the camera and said in Tamil, “I am happy to have gotten a 100 crore hattrick for the first time in my life. This is only possible, not because of me, but of you and your support. I do not know how to thank you for this. I thank all the Tamil people, Jayam Ravi sir, Ishari Ganesh sir, Aghoram sir, Archana Kalapati ma'am, Mythri Movie Makers, my directors Ashwath and Keerthiswaran, and thank you. I would like to thank my Telugu audience in Kerala, Karnataka, Dubai, Malaysia, Singapore, and North America. I thank all the people. Love you.”

The actor, who is only three films old, has scored 100 crore with all three of them. His first film as an actor, Love Today, in 2022, made an estimated 107 crore worldwide. His next film, Dragon, in 2025, collected around 150.52 crore worldwide. 

Pradeep made his directorial debut in Kollywood with the 2019 film Comali, in which he also made a cameo appearance. He will be seen next in Love Insurance Kompany, which is set to release next year.
