Tanushree Dutta Alleges Murder Plot: They Want Me Dead Like Sushant Singh Rajput 

Tanushree Dutta's safehouse in Mumbai has a distinct atmosphere. Six years after she sparked India’s  #MeToo reckoning by accusing Nana Patekar of harassment, the former Miss India fears for her life. “Last month, my car brakes failed mysteriously on the Bandra-Worli Sea Link,”  said Dutta in an exclusive June 2025 interview, her hands shaking around a chai cup. “This isn't a coincidence; this is elimination. They want me gone like Sushant.”  Her accusations stoked the most pernicious conspiracy theories in Bollywood.

The Allegations: From Harassment to Homicide?  

Dutta's file of threats included:  

  • May 2025: Pharmaceutical tampering (hospital tests confirmed supplements were contaminated with a sedative).
  • April 2025: Cyberattacks that removed evidence from her devices  
  • Ongoing: Anonymous letters reading Stop talking or end up in a morgue! 

Forensic analyst Dr. Ranjit Singh (via The Hindu) verified there was brake fluid diluted in the brake fluid reservoir in Dutta's BMW, a calling card for a hired hitman.  Mumbai Police have provided 24/7 security, yet Dutta questions, after Sushant's suicide,’ who can trust them?

Tanushree Dutta Felt Threatened by the Movie Mafia Group

Tanushree Dutta said that she felt there were attempts to kill her just like Sushant Singh Rajput. The Dhol film actress spoke of a supposed conspiracy from this bollywood mafia group. She just continued to say, “I am asking the government to give me some security. This mafia is big and dangerous, and I am scared for my life like Sushant must have been.” The Aashiq Banaya Apne actress continued I've had constant harassment and then some follow-up. They even put a maid in my house to keep tabs on me.


In addition to her accusations against Patekar, Tanushree Dutta also alleged that director Vivek Agnihotri had once pressured her to remove clothes and dance on the sets of Chocolate. Both Agnihotri and Patekar have denied the claims.

Tanushree Dutta Seeks Police Help

The Bhagam Bhag actress alleges that she will file a complaint with the police, requesting it to take up the investigation in the matter as a fresh case, rather than as an extension of her old MeToo complaint. She said, “I request the authorities not to treat this as a continuation of my previous case but to look at this with a fresh perspective and help me get justice. “

Dutta confirmed that the announcement was not meant to reopen her old MeToo complaint. “I’m not trying to reopen the old case. I only want action on the new incidents that are endangering my safety, “ said Dutta. Is somebody threatening Tanushree's life, or is it yet another attention exercise? We shall have to wait and watch.
