Apple enthusiasts are in for a treat in 2024 as the tech giant prepares to unveil an updated lineup with its iPad series, including new iterations of the iPad Pro and iPad Air according to a report by Bloomberg's Mark Gurman springing the anticipated launch -Seasonal is set, with expectations pointing to March or April, with new features and upgrades coming.
New iPad Air models: M2 chip and advanced connectivity
Expected releases include the iPad Air, which is expected to come in 10.9-inch and 12.9-inch variants Some of the key features include the M2 chip including integration for improved speed, an updated rear camera, improved Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity While there won’t be any major design changes to the iPad Air, the technological upgrades promise to be earned a powerful and versatile experience.
Starting with the iPad Air, it has been reported so far that the 11-inch iPad Air will be upgraded to add a new M2 chip and faster Wi-Fi, while there are also reports that the inch 13 brand new ones will also be added to the mix. That will be the first time the iPad Air will be offered in two different display sizes as opposed to the iPad Pro, but neither of these is being emphasized by Apple as you might expect. The current iPad Air was announced in March 2022 and features the M1 chip, so it’s worth an upgrade.
iPad Pro with OLED Displays:
The brighter and more energy-efficient Apple models feat has been introduced to elevate the iPad Pro series. This technology promises a brighter screen, higher contrast, and less power consumption compared to current LCD models. When Apple adds an OLED display to the iPad Pro lineup, users can expect it to go up. A potential switch to OLED could also result in lower refresh rates, which could improve energy efficiency.
The addition of the M3 chip aims to increase processing speed, other expected features include MagSafe for wireless charging and a redesigned Magic Keyboard with an extended trackpad and aluminum top and the rear camera setup inspired by the iPad Air may be changed.
2023 is the first year to see no new iPad updates released but it seems more likely that 2024’s round of tablet updates should be expected to move down gears over the next few months. There have also been reports that Apple will release a new iPad and iPad mini as well, but Gurman doesn’t seem to believe either will arrive this March to April timeframe.
The same Bloomberg report also suggests that the redesigned M3 MacBook Air will be launched around the same time, with both the 13- and 15-inch models likely to be updated simultaneously for the first time.
Conclusion: As Apple prepares to unveil the new iPad in March or April, the tech world is buzzing with expectations. With talk of things ranging from performance improvements to new display technologies, users can expect another surprise addition to the iPad lineup with the official announcement, as Apple moves on setting the standard for innovation in the tablet world.
