Joining plenty of other new NFT games the Shiba Inu Game is almost ready to launch!
When the SHIB team announced the Shiba Inu Game in November 2021, it swept holders into a wave of excitement. Joining plenty of other new NFT games set to launch in the future, the Shiba Inu Game will expand the Shiba Inu ecosystem even further, joining up with the likes of the Shiba Inu Metaverse and Shiboshi NFTs.
William Volk, Alpha Director at Shiba Inu, gave fans and investors the first look at SHIB’s upcoming game, made in collaboration with PlaySide Studios. Volk is a former Head of the world-famous game studio, Activision.
Volk put out an invite via Twitter and asked fans and investors who were at the Game Developers Conference 2022 (GDC), to join him and the team from Shiba Inu and Playside Studios, for an informal party at the Press Club bar and lounge. The team also offered the first drink for the first 30 attendees.
About the Shiba Inu Game
The Shiba Inu Game is two games, split into both a classic mobile game and an NFT game that will make use of the Shiboshi NFTs. Developed by Playside Studios and William Volk, the mobile game is designed to bring in more casual players. It will feature in-app purchases. The blockchain version of the game will add further value to the Shiboshi NFTs and include play-to-earn elements.
According to SHIB project lead Shytoshi Kusama, the Shiba Inu game's narrative will also span through the entire SHIB ecosystem.
As reported by “Planet Crypto”, it is not fully sure as to what the other gameplay differences are between the games just yet. Most of the information coming out about the games does not distinguish between the two. As such, the following information could refer to either the mobile game, the play-to-earn game, or both. That is, if the mobile launch even happens, as Shytoshi has cast doubt on this version in the SHIB Discord.
Release Date
There have been an array of speculations about the release date of the Shiba Inu game. Previously, it was noted that the game would release sometime between July and September 2022. According to Playside’s contract, they would develop the game during the 8-months of the term agreement. Since the development started in December 2021, July 2022 is when the game should have been ideally released.
There is immense enthusiasm around this project. William Volk, the game developer, ensured that it wouldn’t be a mere clone of other card games. A whopping 1000 SHIB-themed cards are expected to be featured. Recently, the Shiba Inu network took to Twitter and dropped a hint about the game.
