Amazon-is-Recruiting-Influencers-for-its-New-“Inspire”-Feed

Amazon will add a TikTok-style feed of shoppable content called 'Inspire' to its app.

Amazon has announced that to increase engagement on its platform, it will add a TikTok-like feed of shoppable content called 'Inspire' to its app. 'Inspire' is the company's attempt to get users to buy products as they see them in online content.

The new feed option will appear in the app as a lightbulb icon and will be available to a limited number of US users this month. The e-commerce behemoth has also been enlisting the help of influencers to create videos for the feed. The Inspire tab will allow customers to browse categories such as interior design, pets, and skincare. The videos and photos will include links to Amazon products that can be purchased directly. In August, the company was said to be internally testing a TikTok-style vertical photo and video feed in its app. "We are constantly testing new features to help make the lives of our customers a little easier," an Amazon spokesperson said.

Amazon has joined the TikTok bandwagon! The e-commerce company is introducing a news feed in the Amazon app that includes images and videos of items. Amazon calls the feed "Inspire," and the company attempts to make its app more social media-like. Inspire will be available in the Amazon app as a lightbulb icon this month to a limited number of customers in the United States. Amazon appears to be recruiting influencers to create videos for the Inspire feed. Inspire was first tested with employees this summer. In a TikTok-like feed, shoppers would be able to choose from various categories such as interior design, pets, skincare, and more.

Instead of going to the search bar and finding relevant products, users can purchase items directly from these images and clips as they scroll. While TikTok is not permitted in India, its short-form video content may be comparable to Instagram Reels, in which certain Amazon products are mentioned. Influencers can earn a commission in this manner as well. Amazon now wishes to capitalize on this. It already has a sizable market. Amazon could reach out to Gen Z users using a social media-like approach. Amazon is already looking for employees to help make this a reality. If all goes well, shopping via a TikTok-like news feed could become a regular Amazon feature.
