Let’s see what bugs were found in Microsoft Windows 11 and how they have been fixed?
Microsoft has rolled out a new preview of Windows 11 and early adopters have reported bugs and issues with the next generation of Windows. March 2022's cumulative updates contain the standard assortment of security and servicing stack updates, with the added benefit of an important bug fix that was recently called out by a Microsoft MVP on Twitter. Microsoft is promising that fixes and updates are on the way next year that will improve the performance of the operating system, which has received numerous complaints from Windows fans.
Windows 11 plus lots of bugs:
One Microsoft user complained about startup performance, the widely publicized File Explorer glitch, and other menu and language bar items that are slow when compared with Windows 10. Microsoft is already testing some of the fixes in its latest Windows Insider preview build for the operating system.
The browser-like tabs are coming to Windows File Explorer along with customizable App Folders, and security improvements. But the update of the Windows 11 in the Insider Preview Build 22593 for Dev and Beta Channels users replaces the File Explorer with the Home feature. The Quick Access button has also been renamed Favorites to make it consistent with Office and OneDrive. Developers should notice a change with Windows Terminal too. 71 vulnerabilities were tackled.
And addressed bugs in both Windows 11's KB5011493 update and the Windows 10 KB5011487 update, it's Microsoft's answer to the recently outed OneDrive problem. OneDrive users would find some data still on their PCs even after a proper reset was carried out.
Microsoft’s team advised users who have encountered issues and problems to provide the company with feedback to improve Windows 11. Microsoft is improving the Focus feature, which aims to counter distractions. Users can currently control timed focus sessions through the Clock app and schedule a focus time through the Outlook email client. Microsoft added 5-minute increments for allocations of quiet time under a half-hour in this preview.
There are lots of fixes for the Windows 11 Taskbar, which Microsoft has been working to address due to persistent stability issues. The lengthy list of fixes for the Windows taskbar shows the challenges including touchscreen devices and conventional PCs with mouse and keyboard input. The Start menu and Microsoft search on Windows were using too much memory and were unstable. There are also fixes for the Settings and Task Manager apps, and fixes for the voice access, narrator and live caption accessibility features. Testers should also notice a smoother visual experience when loading Home in File Explorer.
Microsoft isn’t the only company to face performance-related criticism with its latest operating system release. Window 11 cannot be called flawless after months of tinkering around since some issues persist and are reported by users on forums from time to time. Bugs that have come up are a result of settings malfunction at a deeper level while some prop-up due to anomalies in the software code. Microsoft says it "addressed an underlying issue leading to living captions showing a download error, even though the download had completed successfully."
